Instagram engagement rate calculator
Engagement rate is likes plus comments divided by followers, as a percent. Enter the follower count and the average likes and comments of recent posts to see it. The calculation runs in your browser and nothing you type is sent to a server.
Fill in the fields to see the result. Leave nothing blank that you know; type 0 for a measured zero.
How it works
Method
- Per item: (likes + comments) divided by the follower count, as a percent. This calculator applies that formula to the averages you enter.
- Starlecta's account rate is the weighted median of the item rates over the last 90 days of posts and Reels (weights 1.0, 0.6 and 0.3 by age), against the current follower count. This calculator takes one average, so its result is a simple rate and not that weighted median.
- The optional second result divides likes plus comments by views. It is a separate reading. Play counts take no part in Starlecta's engagement rate, so the two numbers are not interchangeable.
Questions
How do you calculate Instagram engagement rate?
Add the likes and comments of a post, divide by the follower count and multiply by 100. For several posts, use the average likes and the average comments, or work out each post's rate and take the median.
Why does the calculator show a second rate based on views?
Some teams divide interactions by views instead of followers. That answers a different question: how much of the audience that played a video reacted. Starlecta's engagement rate does not use plays, so the two numbers are not interchangeable.
Is anything I type sent to Starlecta?
No. The calculation runs in your browser and the numbers you enter are not sent to a server.
