Instagram Story views estimator

Estimated Story views = followers x a view ratio x the number of Stories. The view ratio is the median of a creator's Reel plays divided by followers, from at least three Reels, and it never exceeds 1. The result is a modelled estimate, not a measured view count.

For example 125000, 125,000 or 125k
How to give the view ratio
At least three Reels, one per line or separated by commas

Fill in the fields to see the result. Leave nothing blank that you know; type 0 for a measured zero.

How it works

Method

  • Estimated views = followers x view ratio x number of Stories, the formula of the Story estimate method.
  • View ratio: the median of the Reel plays you enter divided by followers, with at least three Reels with usable counts. The ratio never exceeds 1.
  • Range: this tool also shows the total at the lowest and at the highest Reel you entered. That is the range of your own numbers, not the method's low and high scenario and not a confidence interval. The method uses the p10 and p90 ratios of comparable peers; peer data is not part of this tool.
  • If you already know the ratio, type it directly. No spread is shown then.

Questions

Can you see how many people viewed someone else's Story?

Not from outside the account. Stories last 24 hours and the externally observed data holds no measured view counts for them, so Starlecta shows Story views as a modelled estimate and labels it as one.

How is the Story view ratio chosen?

It is the median of the creator's Reel plays divided by followers, using at least three Reels, and it never exceeds 1.

Is the estimate the number of unique people reached?

No. It estimates views. It is not unique reach and not a count of people.
