Reel plays

The play count of Reels, measured on the day it was read, with the number of Reels it rests on.

01

Definition

Reel plays is the play counter of a Reel, read from the account data on a stated date. Plays exist only for Reels.

02

How it is computed

  • Brand of the Day shows the total plays of the week's Reels, and says on how many of the Reels it was measured (for example, measured on 13 of 13 Reels).
  • The head-to-head also gives the median plays per Reel for each brand.
  • A Reel whose play count has not been read is not part of the total or the median.
  • It is a measured counter. It is never added to a modelled value such as the Story view estimate.
03

Limits

  • When no Reel of the week has a measured play count, the page shows the number of Reels and says that plays are not measured yet. It does not show 0.
  • A head-to-head row needs plays measured on at least 5 Reels. With fewer, the row is left out, and a tile that would rest on fewer says that too few plays were measured to show.
  • Plays are not reach, and they are not comparable with the per-follower engagement rate.
04

Example

A week with 13 Reels, all measured, adds up to 778,015 plays: the page reads "Reel plays, measured on 13 of 13 Reels".
